July 29, 2014 the AIM Summer Program went on a walking tour of Bellows Falls. We had the opportunity to see Chris Sherwin’s Glass Art, WOOL 91.5 FM, and FACT TV. At the Glass Studio we saw sand made into a glass pumpkin. By using a hot oven Mr. Sherwin melted sand into glass. We were able to see how he shaped and formed the glass. It was amazing to see all the tools that were used to create the beautiful works of art. At WOOL some of the students were able to talk on the radio. Angel got on the mic and loved being on air. We learned how the radio station is available for anyone to have a show, and some of us might someday. We continued our journey up to FACT TV where we got to see the magical green screen and the tools that are used to produce a program. FACT TV showed us their new equipment, the drone. The drone is a mini helicopter with a camera and can fly 20,000 feet in the air. We got a sneak peak at the drone in action. It was great to learn all the cool things that are available to us right here in Bellows Falls.
